The ambiance here is the first thing i'm going to note because it really is such a bright and beautiful outdoor space. Nestled right on the river this spot is cheerful and relaxed in an upscale but comfortable way. We started with the fried artichoke hearts and they were a favorite amongst the table (I mean drive an hour to napa to get them again type of favorite). The chilled corn soup was out of this WORLD good and I wanted my bowl to magically refill as I was eating it. The mac and cheese wasn't for me the cheese was pretty sharp and zingy and I was hoping for a more classic gooey cheesy experience. The butter and bread is iconic and the butter is so sweet and light. The steak frites was the most expensive and disappointing thing we ordered - the steak was fine but under seasoned and underwhelming especially considering the $70 price tag. The fries were super crispy and the highlight of the dish. The summer truffle burrata got mixed reviews at our table but was absolutely stunning and the truffle was delicious. We got some drinks as well and the espresso martinis were great! Would 100% come back now that I have some favorites - don't skip the chilled corn soup!

Always fine service and ambiance at Angele. Inside you feel like you're in a Normandy fishing village, outside you're on the Riviera, but with the Napa river. I love the bread and butter, the salads, the shellfish, the soups. Cocktails are delicious and generous. Make a reservation, or eat at the long zinc bar.

A waterfront restaurant in downtown Napa. Classic white tablecloth dinner ambience inside. Food was tasty but a little overpriced, menu is just about similar to other restaurants in the area. Great place to eat if you plan to walk around downtown Napa

First stop of our Napa trip. My boyfriend surprised me and brought me to this cute restaurant for lunch I ordered the artichoke salad and they brought me fried artichokes so I sent them back. The waiter was very apologetic. Bf ordered the caviar with a salad. My fave bean salad arrived and it has 4 tiny artichoke hearts in it. The dressing is kind of tangy. The waiter is AWESOME and adorable.

This restaurant has quickly become one of my new favorites in Downtown Napa. Not only is it located perfectly along the water, the service is excellent and the food never disappoints. We arrive for a late dinner and the waitstaff were diligently turning on and moving the heaters to make sure my party was comfortable. I love their tower of fries that comes in a teracotta pot it's so cute! And definitely a must have for the table to start. The steak Taretare is phenomenal, I opted to put it on the bread they provided rather than the chips it came with but it nevertheless a must try. I was with a party of 4 people and each of us truly enjoyed our entrees. I ordered the Leek Soup to start and it was light and flavorful, but my friend's french onion soup also looked really tasty so I definitely made a mental note to order that next time. I had never had the pasta I ordered before and I was impressed with not only the beautiful presentation of the food but the overall experience and quality. The portion was good and it left me satisfied. For dessert we had both the chocolate mousse and the Bread Pudding and while both were delicious the Bread Pudding was my favorite. Highly recommend trying this place out if you haven't already.

Always the best expression of traditional French cuisine in a quaint, romantic setting. Inside the once riverside boathouse or on the covered, shielded patio, the seasonal dishes are deeply imbued with French flair. Today the choices were the Salade Niçoise and Salade Lyonnaise. Both exquisitely composed and delicious. The nicçoise, a generous plating of little gems, tuna conserva, haricots verts, cucumber, olives, farm egg in what tasted like a shallot vinaigrette. Very fresh, flavorful with a touch of briny tartness from the olives with moist preserved tuna. Salad Lyonnaise was presented with tender frisée, warm lentils du puy braised with smoky chunks of lardons and a lightly poached farm egg that oozed eggy goodness all in a slightly sweet sherry vinaigrette. I started with the escargot and the champagne. Today's selection a Grand Cru. Absolutely gorgeous wine. Light straw color, Fine perlage, aromas of fresh stone fruit, brioche and tiny hints of lemon peel, creamy mouthfeel with a touch of flint and a long lemon curd finish. Delightful. The rest of the wine list covers some of the best french regional producers and the cocktails are brilliant. The snails were tender and resilient in a parsley garlic beurre blanc under puff pastry rounds. GARLIC, mmmmm. Service is always stellar and today was no different. We have been visiting this spot for many years and they never fail to deliver a great dining experience. Make your reservations by phone or the Tock app.

I was looking for a nice restaurant where I could bring my dog, and Angele Restaurant & Bar consistently came up as a great place to bring him. I made reservations for Angele on a Saturday night at 7pm. Knowing that the restaurant was on the more high end side, I specifically asked for a table in their outdoor patio to accommodate our dog. I was very pleased to find that their outdoor patio was not only warm but also well covered from the elements. Overall customer service was excellent. Every single staff member whom we interacted with was genuinely friendly and helpful. Our server was great, and I was so appreciative by how attentive he was. To top it all of, our food and drinks came out in such a timely manner. My fiance and I ordered a few items including their classic French onion soup, fried artichoke appetizer, escargot, and beef bourguignon. My fiance and I spent a bit of time in Paris and even got engaged there, so the French Onion soup and beef bourguignon were real treats as they brought us back to happy memories in our happy place. The dish of escargots was actually an appetizer, but I had it for my entree. I felt that the sauce was super heavy on the garlic and wine, so it masked the mussels-flavor of the escargot that I like. I was also hoping that the snails would be in their shells since part of the enjoyment is deshelling them with the special tongs. The puff pastries were cool though. I never had these when I ate escargot in Paris. The fried artichoke was fine. The batter was seasoned nicely. Didn't care much for the lemon aioli, which was a bit too tart for my liking.

Came in for their Thanksgiving dinner experience for 2023. As it was the day of Thanksgiving, reservations in Napa and the surrounding areas were hard to come by. I'll admit that Angele wasn't the first choice, but after needing to cancel an early reservation at Sam's Social Club to accommodate a last minute Thanksgiving lunch, Angele did not disappoint. We were a group of four, half of which had the Turkey dinner and were happy we did. The Turkey was juicy and the potatoes and Brussel sprouts were flavorful. The warm bread pudding dessert was a perfect ending to a great meal. Service was on par with most places in this range and the waiter was attentive but also made us feel relaxed on the thanksgiving holiday. Pros: Delicious Thanksgiving Experience, friendly staff, great location Coms: NA

Serving downtown Napa locals serving "homey" French dishes, including a standout roast chicken served in a Le Creuset pot and authentic onion soups, many dishes that get the most praise are the simplest, like the French fries "with bits of skin clinging to the ends" and banana gratin that has been on the menu for as long as I can remember. We sat at the bar in a Saturday lunch, which was delightful. The service from the bar is welcoming and extremely attentive. Ambiance here is rustic French. We loved it. I do noticed the reviews noted "consistent" inconsistency, guess we did go on a day that all the stars aligned.
